The DCS Air & Space Technology (AST) Sector is seeking a Computer Engineer for an exciting opportunity in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
In this role, you will help deliver technical expertise, with a focus on Modeling, Simulation & Analysis. You will collaborate closely with other DCS computer scientists and data analysts to support the customer's digital engineering initiatives. Essential Job Functions:
Development and integration of military models and operational concepts into AFSIM to advance the study of R&D conceptual technologies.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and triage.
Testing and evaluation of simulation environment and systems under test within the simulation environment.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, US citizenship is required.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Secret level US DOD security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a US government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Similar).
Familiarity in at least one of the following specialty areas: AFSIM, MBSE, AI/ML, or Database Development
Experience using at least one scripting language such as JavaScript or Python.
Experience with Object Oriented programming.
Must be curious to explore new problems and develop creative solutions.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must work onsite at customer facility. No Remote work.
Desired Skills:
Active Secret (or higher) security clearance.
1-5 years of direct experience in one or more of the specialty areas listed above.
Strong understanding of military platforms, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), CONOPS, and mission-level concepts (air combat, ISR, electronic warfare, or electromagnetic spectrum operations highly desirable).
Familiarity with Agile Methodology particularly utilizing the Scrum framework.
Familiarity with Git-based version control, including branch management and merge request workflows in GitLab.
Master's degree in technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Similar)
