Duties

As a SUPPLY SYSTEMS ANALYST (GS-2003-09), you will plan, organize, and administer the operation of automated system in support of the LRS. A broad knowledge of operations and automated system is required to assist managers and specialist in managing programs. Serves as the primary point of contact to ensure the effective operation of computer hardware and software.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications

Military Grades: ENLISTED

GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Must have one year year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply functions, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Experience in cost estimates, budgets, or funding management. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support. Experience requiring person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.

Education

If only using education to qualify for this position:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or
LL.B. or J.D., if related

or

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond a four year degree in a related field.

Graduate Education: Education at the graduate level (above a Bachelors Degree) in an accredited college or university.

You must provide Official Transcripts as documentation to support your educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

This position is an indefinite appointment that may be made permanent later without competition. Employees hired under indefinite appointments may not exceed 5 years (consecutive) time with the agency. The applicant selected may be released at any time subject to a 30-day notice and advised of his/her rights and benefits to which entitled. If a permanent employee accepts this indefinite position, their tenure will change from permanent to indefinite.
Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service).
