Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician supporting the Civilian Division at the Kennedy Space Center, FL. This fulltime represented position is responsible for performing in field and laboratory NDE inspections. This position supports the Kennedy Space Center and United States Space Force 45th Space Wing at Canaveral Space Force Station.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician supporting the Civilian Division at the Kennedy Space Center, FL. This fulltime represented position is responsible for performing in field and laboratory NDE inspections. This position supports the Kennedy Space Center and United States Space Force 45th Space Wing at Canaveral Space Force Station.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and completion of related NDE technical training curriculum
- Two or more years of experience in Nondestructive Testing
- Must have a Florida Driver's license
- Minimum of four NDE Level II certification in accordance with ANSI practice (SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E)
- Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance

- Able to work in enclosed areas and heights up to 500 feet
- Able to follow written and oral instructions
- Able to withstand stress of repetitive tasks and pressure of critical deadlines
- Must be able to read, comprehend and follow prescribed procedures
- Computer literate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently perform tasks and provide guidance to trainees, Level I and Level II employees engaged in field or laboratory NDE inspection activities
- Follow written work instructions
- Setup, standardize, and operate NDE test equipment
- Interpret results of NDE inspections performed on equipment, systems and flight hardware
- Perform tests and interpret results utilizing NDE methods such as Radiography, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Detection, Visual/Optical (CCTV/CWI) and Infrared
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Perform work assigned with responsible NDE engineering or management
- Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures
- Perform tasks as directed
