Job Description

GovCIO is currently hiring for OPSEC Open Source Research Assessments (OSRAs) Technical Analyst to identify and mitigate risks to sensitive information. This position will be located at Lackland AFB, TX and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

Responsible for researching, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on information gathered from publicly available sources. This includes news articles, social media, academic papers, government documents, and other online/print/telephonic resources to include identifying potential new data sources. The incumbent will turn public online data into clear and actionable reports. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring ongoing and planned exercise/operations and provide relevant PAI analysis to enhance situational awareness and indications and warning. Additionally, the incumbent will conduct analytic exchanges with other PAI organizations and maintain awareness of the latest trends in PAI data application and acquisition as well as contribute to the development of PAI policy, techniques, tradecraft, and training techniques. They act as a detective, hunting for trends across the internet to help leaders make big decisions. This role demands sharp critical thinking and strong writing skills.   • Stay Relevant: Stay abreast of the relevant USAF/DoD policies and regulations.
  • Data Hunt: Analyze complex information, identify patterns, collect information from the "clear", "deep", and "dark" web, plus social media.
  • Spot Patterns: Review large amounts of data to find hidden threats, trends, scams, and assess risks.
  • Make Reports: Turn raw data into useful tools like heat maps, profiles, trend charts, and produce OSRAs.
  • Stay Safe: Use secure research tools to keep their identity hidden while browsing.
  • Share Advice: Brief the customer and their leadership to provide relevance and understand of the presented data.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI +NATO Secret
  • 6+ years of experience with producing Open Source Research Assessments (OSRAs)
  • Knowledge of USAF/DoD OPSEC principles and practices
  • Understanding of relevant USAF/DoD policies and regulations
  • Experience conducting pattern of life analysis using CAI data.
  • Critical thinking and strong writing skills.


Desired Qualifications:

National Geospatial Agency Commercial Telemetry Data (CTD) training course, Air Force OPSEC Course (AFOC), Defense OPSEC Planners Course (DOPC), Joint Information Planners Course (JIPC) Phase II, Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC), DoD OSINT Foundational Course, joint-equivalent course qualification in OPSEC, SANS SEC487 (Open-Source Intelligence Analysis) course, or equivalent.
