Job Description
This F-35 Fighter Pilot SME will provide F-35/5th Gen expertise to the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) during simulator test mission execution, as well as be responsible for pre-mission planning and post-mission reporting. This SME will also provide support in test and training as a member of the Red Team as a Red Air pilot. Responsibilities will also include test plan and test card writing. Primary duty location will be the 445 th TS, DTTR-N, Nellis AFB, NV.
Responsibilities as a JSE Pilot - F-35 Subject Matter Expert may include:
• Support as 4 th /5th Generation Fighter Pilot SME for the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) team
• Provide Red Simulated Pilot Support for the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) team
• Support development of JSE Test Plans and Test Cards for event execution.
• Support daily communications with JSE customers/SME's, JSE Development Team representatives, and supporting sub-contractors.
• Perform as the liaison between military personnel and JSE Operators.
• Assist software development team in developing an advanced synthetic training environment to support military technology, tactics, and training. Apply tactical knowledge to support scenario development for customer training objectives and test events.
• Conduct general subject matter research, analysis, correlation, and assessments.
• Act as technical liaison to outside organizations.
• Participate in software test activities.
Required:
• 8+ years of military tactical aviation experience
• 3+ years experience with F-35 systems and operations
• Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of flight test missions, briefings and interface with a team of discipline engineers in Mission Control Room.
• Work well in a team environment as well as independently.
• Experience generating post flight mission reports and other detailed formal reports.
• Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and needs.
Desired:
• 4+ years experience with 4 th Gen systems and operations with a focus on Aggressor tactics
• Active or recent USAF/USN/USMC 5th Gen platform qualification.
• Certification as a USAF/USN Weapons Instructor Course, tactics instructor, Test Pilot School graduate, and/or aviators/operators with specialized qualifications and backgrounds.
• Prior experience directly supporting AFOTEC test
• Prior experience supporting Model and Simulation efforts.
• Prior experience supporting software testing.
• Prior flight simulator operations experience.
• Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Bachelor's degree with Engineering experience.
Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret is acceptable to start. Ability to attain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and special program access is required.
Travel:
Approximately 10 - 25% travel may be required.
U.S. Citizenship is required
