Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Manufacturing & Construction Project Manager to support a high-visibility program based in Orlando, FL . This position is a full-time, onsite role supporting complex design, integration, and construction initiatives within a defense-focused environment. The right candidate will need to have expertise in the Design and Build phase of the project.
As a Manufacturing & Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading large-scale engineering and construction efforts from planning through execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting stringent technical and regulatory requirements.

As a Manufacturing & Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading large-scale engineering and construction efforts from planning through execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting stringent technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and oversight for complex, long-term design, integration, and construction projects
- Review designs for manufacturability and ensure alignment with engineering and construction standards
- Develop and manage integration and construction plans, schedules, and milestones
- Deliver progress updates and status reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Identify and plan required resources, equipment, and workforce needs
- Lead staffing and assignment of engineering, manufacturing, and technical personnel across functional teams
- Review and approve contractor plans and oversee on-site contractor performance
- Collaborate with professional engineers, civil planners, and local government authorities throughout the project lifecycle
- Support project phases including planning, approval, integration, testing, and turnover
- Maintain accountability for safety, cost control, and schedule adherence
- Present program updates to senior leadership and customers
- Travel domestically as needed (up to 50% during peak project phases)
Requirements:
- 10+ years of combined experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction engineering/operations
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Planning, Production, or Operations Management (or related field)
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, complex projects over extended durations
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, redlines, calculations, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor) and standards such as SAE/ASME Y14.1 and Y14.5 (GD&T)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction methods (mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural)
- Experience in defense environments or working on military installations
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer
- Experience with naval or industrial power plant systems
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
- Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical planning disciplines
- Experience using CAD/modeling platforms such as SolidWorks, Revit, or Inventor
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
Compensation to Include:
- Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000 *depending on experience*
