LMI is seeking a skilled DevSecOps/SRE Engineer at our headquarters office in Tysons, VA. As a DevSecOps/SRE Engineer at LMI, you will be at the forefront of modernizing and maintaining secure, resilient, and efficient systems for federal clients. You will play a vital role in designing and managing robust CI/CD pipelines, automating operations through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), managing containerized workloads, and ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks. Additionally, your expertise in monitoring, alerting, and incident response will contribute to maintaining reliable application environments that meet critical Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines across hybrid technology stacks, ensuring secure and automated deployments.
- Build and maintain container-based architectures using Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform for provisioning and configuration management.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high system availability and performance.
- Perform incident management, including root cause analysis, escalation, and after-action reporting.
- Automate operational tasks to reduce toil and streamline workflows, ensuring compliance with federal GSA guidelines and security standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA).
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to improve system architecture and ensure smooth operations.
- Integrate and leverage AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, Lambda) for flexible and scalable system design.
- Monitor and maintain system reliability by tracking error budgets, and balancing feature velocity with system stability.
- Deliver operational documentation, including system runbooks, incident reports, and CI/CD architecture diagrams.
- Support modernization efforts by integrating legacy system operations with cloud-native methodologies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3-7 years of experience in DevSecOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles, managing and automating complex applications and systems.
- Skilled in CI/CD pipeline design and management, including experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in container orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes, and implementing microservices-based architectures.
- Demonstrated expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting tools for application and infrastructure health, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Experience with incident management processes, including escalation, root cause analysis, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda.
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST RMF.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate tasks.
- Solid understanding of Agile and DevSecOps principles, with experience working in iterative delivery environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Terraform Associate.
- Experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices such as defining and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.
- Expertise in cloud-native services (e.g., AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB).
- Familiarity with advanced deployment strategies, including canary releases, blue/green deployments, and feature flagging.
- Experience managing hybrid delivery environments, with a mix of legacy and cloud-native architectures.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI/ML-assisted code development tools to accelerate project delivery.
- Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing and maintaining operational documentation such as runbooks and architecture diagrams.
- Knowledge of security best practices and hands-on experience implementing secure DevOps pipelines, including application vulnerability scanning and automated security testing.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, including message queues or service bus integration.
- Experience supporting the General Services Administration (GSA)
- Public Trust clearance is required for this position.
