Job Description

Director of Business Development

Gauge Engineering Services is seeking a motivated Director of Business Development to drive
expansion across the Defense Industry.

Gauge Engineering Services strengthens America’s warfighting advantage by delivering fast,
disciplined engineering support to the defense enterprise. Our teams help programs accelerate
development, reduce technical risk, and field reliable mission systems that operate effectively in
demanding operational environments. We are looking for an experienced Director of Business
Development to take these offerings to market.

This role will work closely with our Chief Executive Officer to build a strong business
development pipeline and drive opportunities to closure.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development
• Develop and execute the company's annual business development strategy aligned with
corporate growth objectives.
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the U.S. Department of War
(DoW), Intelligence Community, and prime defense contractors.
• Establish strategic growth plans for target customers, programs, and contract vehicles.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities sufficient to meet annual revenue
objectives.
• Analyze market trends, defense budgets, acquisition forecasts, and competitive
landscapes to identify emerging opportunities.

Customer Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with government customers, prime
contractors, and industry partners.
• Represent Gauge Engineering Services at customer meetings, industry conferences, trade
shows, and networking events.
• Position the company as a trusted engineering partner by understanding customer
missions and technical challenges.
• Maintain regular engagement with existing clients to identify follow-on opportunities and
expand current work.

Capture Management
• Lead opportunity qualification using established bid/no-bid criteria.
• Develop capture strategies for priority opportunities.
• Identify and manage teaming partners and subcontracting relationships.
• Develop win themes, competitive assessments, and customer engagement strategies.
• Manage opportunity pursuits from identification through contract award.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in Business Development in the Defense Industry
• Thorough understanding of the Business Acquisition Process.
• Ability to lead and build high performing business development teams.
• Strong history of winning proposals with new customers.
• Strong desire to help build an emerging company.
• Relationship capital in the Defense Industry.

Compensation
$150,000-$200,00 base plus commission and opportunities for profit sharing.
