Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3 to oversee the Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) team within the Systems Engineering Team (SET) Specialty Engineering directorate. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

The Sentinel NH&S Sr. Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the NH&S specific technical tasking as defined in the program Statement of Work (SOW) or as assigned by the Director of Specialty Engineering.
The NH&S Sr. Manager will have responsibility for the quality and technical execution of a team of 30-40 engineers. This role works closely with program leadership, technical leaders, business management, the engineering homeroom and directly with the customer. This position requires experience in systems engineering technical work, and experience with leading technical teams over a broad range of tasks including design, implementation, test, verification, reporting and scheduling. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead teams in a fluid environment, encouraging teamwork with our Customer, NGC teams and suppliers to meet program objectives. A high degree of skill in critical decision making is imperative to perform in this environment. A working knowledge of ground-based deterrence systems is desirable.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Managing the day-to-day program execution of the NH&S Specialty Engineering Team.
- Providing EVM responsibilities (CAM for multiple Work Packages) as delegated by the Director of Specialty Engineering.
- Communicate effectively and report status and progress metrics to support Program Management reviews and customer engagements.
Provide senior management guidance on program execution scope for NH&S which includes:
- Defining NHS environments
- Radiation transport modeling and simulation
- Radiation effects circuit analysis
- Ground shock and thermal effects analysis
- Effects of electromagnetic pulses on electronics
- NHS qualification testing and analysis of semiconductors
- NHS qualification testing and analysis of the GBSD systems, subsystems and equipment
- Develop and support consistent execution of standard and best practices, methods, software and tools across NH&S team and sub-teams. Must utilize feedback and lessons learned to further develop these practices and methods and foster a community of continuous improvement.
- Manage and forecast engineering resources in collaboration with the Specialty Director, technical leaders, and functional homeroom. Work with program leadership and technical leads in establishing business objectives and performance goals for the team.
- Partner with the engineering functional homeroom for staffing and recruiting needs to meet the required skillsets to execute program scope of work
- Oversee the NH&S team schedule and planning in support of system design reviews, materials development, recommendations, and document tracking.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 8 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience.
- Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) and DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Experience managing cost, schedule and performance of large government technical statements of work.
- Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and experience as an EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM) or Work Package Lead (WPL).
- Experience in milestone planning and execution to completion (e.g. Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, etc.)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- 10+ years of related experience.
- 7 years of direct experience in technical teams working a complex system of systems.
- Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; a problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage customer relationships and build consensus with customer counterparts.
- Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position leading a team of engineers, including performance reviews for direct reports.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative/team setting across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams of technical professionals (30+)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to brief Segment, Program, and Customer leadership
- Experience working across multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.)
- Experience as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution.
- Familiarity with Northrop Grumman build execution, processes, procedures, tools, and metrics
- Experience in system sell-off and delivery to the customer
- Experience with Confluence and Jira, or equivalent agile programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with MIL-STD-1766
- Experience with MIL-STD-188-125
- Experience with Radiation Testing (Single Event Effects, Transient Radiation Effects on Electronics, Dose Rate, etc.)
- Weapon System experience (GBSD, Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
