Material Process Engineer Level 3 Woodland Hills, CA | Onsite | 6-Month Contract | 9x80 Schedule About the Role Join Indotronix as a Material Process Engineer Level 3 to directly impact critical aerospace and defense programs onsite in Woodland Hills, CA. Responsibilities - Lead materials and process engineering initiatives for aerospace and defense projects. - Evaluate metallic materials and manufacturing processes for compliance with engineering requirements. - Conduct materials analysis focusing on metallurgy, corrosion, fatigue, heat treatment, and materials testing. - Prepare metallographic samples and perform laboratory evaluations. - Review and analyze manufacturing methods, including machining, forging, forming, fastening, welding/brazing, plating, and coating. - Interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and process requirements. - Deliver technical support to manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams. - Work full-time onsite, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer Engineering, or other STEM field. - 5+ years of engineering experience (or 3+ with Master's, 1+ with PhD) in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing. - In-depth knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, heat treatment, corrosion, fatigue, and materials testing. - Hands-on competence in metallographic sample preparation, polishing, etching, and hardness testing. - 2+ years working with machining, forging, forming, fastening, welding/brazing, plating, or coating processes. - Proficient at interpreting engineering drawings and material specifications. - Active DoD Secret Clearance (required for consideration). Preferred Skills - Active Top Secret Clearance. - Master's or PhD in relevant engineering discipline. - Advanced expertise in metals, material properties, evaluation methods. - Experience with additive manufacturing, friction stir welding, EB welding, casting, composites, and advanced coatings. - Background in high-volume manufacturing environments. - Proven mentoring, communication, and technical leadership ability. - Strong academic record combined with hands-on engineering experience.
