What You Will Be Doing
This position is part of Skunk Works' Strategy and Business Development organization, which falls under of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. The selected candidate will lead capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business. They will be accountable to shape and win new business through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and the corporation's best interests. They'll develop capture strategy including business solutions for the pursuit of opportunities; identify potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and price-to-win; and participate in bid and proposal activities. They will have the responsibility to lead and integrate the assigned cross-functional team and authority to direct team activities for the duration of the pursuit. They will run all different types of customer engagements, including those on Lockheed Martin facilities and at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead capture efforts for new business opportunities, contract re-competes, and task order pursuits in support of Skunk Works' strategic growth objectives.
- Develop and execute comprehensive capture strategies that align customer needs with business objectives and maximize the probability of winning.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities by evaluating customer priorities, competitive landscapes, teaming partners, and price-to-win strategies.
- Serve as the capture lead, integrating and directing cross-functional teams throughout the entire pursuit lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, contracts, supply chain, and business development teams to develop compelling customer solutions.
- Lead bid and proposal activities, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and competitive submissions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through strategic engagement at both customer locations and Lockheed Martin facilities.
- Conduct competitive analyses and market assessments to inform capture decisions and business strategies.
- Drive pursuit execution while balancing customer value, program affordability, and corporate business objectives.
- Present capture strategies, business cases, and pursuit updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:
- Current Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP/SAR/SCI access
- Experience working on SAP/SAR/SCI projects
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- A minimum of 12+ years in the defense business (either with the Department of War or Industry - can be combined)
- Experience crafting presentations for senior executives and customers
- Experience in capturing new business and/or starting new programs
- Experience working across organizational boundaries and jurisdictions and leading customer meetings and cross-discipline teams in development of customer solutions
- Experience in multi-domain tracking and targeting
- Experience with communications architectures, data-links, emerging waveforms, and data flow
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Desired Skills:
- Ability to coordinate and work with an Operational Analysis Team to develop and iterate data at a pace that stays ahead of emerging threats
- Experience managing very senior executives and/or military flag officers or equivalents
- Experience managing new business funds for complex programs
- Experience with Special Access Program contracting processes and acquisition strategies
- Experience with the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics & Corporate Headquarters proposal processes (or similar).
- Experience as a pilot or crew-member on military aircraft that specialize in air to air threat tracking and targeting
- Masters Degree

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
