Job Description
TEKsystems has an opening for a highly motivated Network Administrator. This position is located at MacDill AFB, FL. Key elements of this position include: Providing technical expertise for daily operations and maintenance of systems; Effectively troubleshooting, isolating, and resolving technical problems to minimize system downtime; Assisting with preparing and maintaining technical documentation, drawings and related artifacts; Support implementation of routine updates, approved upgrades and engineering or design changes; and Help to isolate and resolve technical issues and problems that impact multiple networks, systems, and devices.
Responsibilities include:
Providing day to day operational routing and switching support with hands on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, etc.)
Troubleshoot routing protocols and end-to-end network performance from the Local Area Network (LAN) through a Wide Area Network (WAN), to a Campus Area Network (CAN).
Willingness to cross train and support multiple technologies in an operational environment including SATCOM, Voice, VDI/Virtualization.
Support the system adherence to industry standards, DOD standards, DOD policies, DOD instructions, DOD directives, cybersecurity policies, and best commercial practices.
Utilize ticketing systems for detailed documentation of outages and network change activities.
Provide technical problem resolution for a wide range of network infrastructure problems or anomalies.
This position requires flexibility to support 24x7 Network Operations including 12 hour shifts as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ce, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.)
CCNA
Education: HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience
Clearance: Secret
