Job Description
Ares Enterprise is seeking a highly experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Digital Business Office (DBO) contract. This senior-level position is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining complex ServiceNow solutions that support mission-critical business operations.
The Senior ServiceNow Developer serves as a technical leader for the development team, providing architectural guidance, mentoring junior developers, and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow applications. This individual will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, business analysts, architects, and technical teams to implement innovative solutions supporting ARL's digital modernization initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, configure, and maintain complex ServiceNow applications and enterprise solutions.
Lead technical implementation efforts for Project MOSS within the ARL DBO environment.
Design scalable ServiceNow architectures that align with government requirements and platform best practices.
Develop advanced functionality using JavaScript, GlideScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and REST/SOAP APIs.
Lead development of custom ServiceNow applications utilizing App Engine Studio and low-code capabilities.
Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications.
Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation strategies.
Perform code reviews and establish development standards and best practices.
Mentor junior and mid-level ServiceNow developers.
Troubleshoot complex platform issues and recommend long-term solutions.
Participate in architecture reviews, technical planning sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
Develop technical documentation, design documents, deployment plans, and operational procedures.
Support platform upgrades, release management, testing, and production deployments.
Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity requirements, government policies, and ServiceNow development standards.
Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and application teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve automation, operational efficiency, and platform performance.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance.
Expert knowledge of JavaScript, GlideScript, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Service Catalog, and Service Portal.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise ServiceNow solutions.
Experience developing REST and SOAP integrations.
Experience supporting ServiceNow platform upgrades and application lifecycle management.
Strong knowledge of ITIL principles and ServiceNow best practices.
Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor development teams.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Eight (8)+ years of progressively responsible software development experience.
Five (5)+ years of ServiceNow platform development experience.
Additional years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for education where contractually permissible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting Army, Department of Defense, or other Federal agencies.
Experience with ServiceNow App Engine, IntegrationHub, CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SPM, or SecOps.
Experience with cloud technologies including Azure or AWS.
Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO), RMF, or cybersecurity initiatives.
Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with automated testing frameworks for ServiceNow.
Experience leading technical modernization initiatives.
Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.
Experience with AI-enabled ServiceNow capabilities, Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, or Generative AI.
Preferred ServiceNow Certifications:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (one or more)
