Position Overview
The Database Administrator supports the organization's database operations by maintaining data environments, assisting with data analysis efforts, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of database systems. This role works closely with technical teams to prepare and manage data assets, troubleshoot database issues, and help evaluate emerging database technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Support the administration and maintenance of enterprise database systems across development, testing, and production environments.
Extract, transform, and organize data for reporting, analytics, and operational needs.
Conduct data exploration and validation activities to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Partner with data science and analytics teams by delivering structured, quality-controlled datasets for advanced analysis and modeling.
Create and maintain database environments and instances to support application testing, development initiatives, and special projects.
Assist with database performance monitoring, optimization, backup processes, and system health checks.
Investigate and resolve database performance issues, outages, and user-reported incidents through both remote and on-site support.
Monitor system availability and provide reporting on database operational status.
Administer user access, permissions, authentication, and security controls in accordance with established policies.
Research, assess, and help implement new database tools, platforms, and technologies that enhance operational capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Experience working with data management, database operations, system monitoring, and user access administration.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail.
Required Certifications
Must possess one of the following:
CompTIA Cloud+
CompTIA Security+
SSCP
GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
