SSI is hiring a Navy Projects Lead with over 20 years of progressive management experience overseeing technical projects for Navy customers. The successful candidate will have a deep operational understanding of U.S. Navy programs, platforms, and processes to effectively align technical services and solutions with requirements. Position is remote, flexible. Must have an active Secret Clearance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for Government civil servants and military service members, translating mission needs into actions.
Small Team Leadership: Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and scaling, high-performing technical teams within a small business environment.
Financial & Budgetary Oversight: Responsibility for project financial management, including budget formulation, cost control, variance analysis, and driving high customer satisfaction through fiscal responsibility.
Rigorous Scheduling & Execution: Master scheduler capable of managing milestones, tracking deliverables, and maintaining strict timeline compliance across multiple concurrent contract tasks.
Technical Acumen: Strong technical background to effectively evaluate engineering challenges, guide technical staff, and confidently present complex solutions to government stakeholders.
Defense Security Compliance: Knowledge of defense security procedures, ensuring strict adherence to information security, and controlled unclassified information (CUI) handling protocols.
Proactive Risk Management: Expert-level ability to identify, mitigate, and manage risks before they impact project execution or client trust.
Quality & Mission Assurance: Enforce quality assurance standards to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed contract requirements and customer expectations.

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Experience: 20 years of professional experience in business or program management
- Education: Master's degree in engineering or related field
- Certifications: Project Management (PMP) or DAU Level III Program Management
