Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Cisco Networking Subject Matter Expert (SM E) to support the build-out of state-of-the-art data centers for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer in Warner Robins, GA. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies, a strong understanding of network security, and an active TS/SCI clearance. This role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performance network infrastructure to meet the mission-critical needs of our DoD customer.
Key Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance (mandatory).
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco technologies.
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco networking solutions, including but not limited to:
- Cisco routers (e.g., ISR, ASR series).
- Cisco switches (e.g., Catalyst, Nexus series).
- Cisco firewalls (e.g., ASA, Firepower).
- Cisco SD-WAN and other related technologies.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, including VPNs, ACLs, encryption, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Experience supporting DoD or federal customers, preferably in data center environments.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, SolarWinds).
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements and compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with technical teams, leadership, and DoD stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) highly desired.
- Experience with data center build-outs or migrations for DoD customers.
- Knowledge of cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid network architectures.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
Compensation:
$78.00-$90.00/hr **depending on experience**

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and deploy Cisco-based network solutions to support data center build-outs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Serve as the primary SME for Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related systems.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with data center operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Conduct network performance assessments and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with DoD security standards and policies, including STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides).
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for operational continuity.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
