Job Description
This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.
A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.
Safety Manager provides direct supervision and oversight of all contractor personnel, enforces standard operating procedures, and ensures safe, compliant work execution. Maintains full accountability of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Material (GFM), and conducts daily safety inspections across all locations. Must have OSHA 30-hour General Industry training, at least 5 years of safety experience, and a practitioner-level certification from a nationally accredited body (e.g., BCSP, ABIH, or equivalent). Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for access to the Depot Production Computer System.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Safety Manager Responsibilities Include:
• Provide direct supervision and oversight of all contractor personnel to ensure safe, compliant work practices.
• Enforce SOPs that define responsibilities, methods of work, and required safety controls.
• Conduct and document daily safety inspections in all locations (shops, warehouses, production areas, offices, and outdoor/field spaces as applicable).
• Identify hazards, stop or correct unsafe acts/conditions, and implement corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Maintain accountability and controls for GFE/GFM, including proper use, storage, handling, and reporting of loss/damage.
• Lead incident/near-miss reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action tracking.
• Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job hazard awareness training for contractor personnel.
• Monitor compliance with applicable OSHA standards and site-specific safety requirements.
• Maintain safety records and inspection documentation; provide required reports to Government and contractor leadership.
• Coordinate with Government personnel and internal stakeholders to resolve safety issues and support mission execution.
• Support readiness and audits/inspections by ensuring documentation and safety programs are current and effective.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Safety Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• OSHA 30-hour General Industry course completion required.
• Additional safety training (e.g., hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE, fall protection) preferred based on site needs.
• Minimum 5 years of safety and occupational health experience in industrial, production, maintenance, logistics, or similar operational environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading safety inspections, enforcing SOPs, and driving corrective actions
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and practical hazard control methods.
• Ability to lead and hold personnel accountable in a high-tempo operational environment.
• Strong inspection and observation skills with the ability to identify hazards and implement effective mitigations.
• Incident investigation and root cause analysis capability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing leaders and training the workforce.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, track corrective actions, and sustain compliance documentation.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple locations and competing priorities.
• Integrity and sound judgment when balancing mission needs with safety requirements.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to work within site systems as required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for access to the Depot Production Computer System.
• Frequent walking/standing and inspections in industrial environments.
• Ability to wear required PPE and work in areas with noise, dust, heat/cold, and moving equipment consistent with depot/production operations.
