PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Parts, Materials & Process Engineer (Level 3, 4 or 5), in Huntsville, AL. Job ID#218763
Job Description:
Under limited general supervision of the Materials and Process Engineering technical leadership team and/or Program Chief Engineer, apply knowledge of engineering and scientific principles to resolve materials related issues, utilize six sigma techniques, lean manufacturing process knowledge and sound decision-making principles to perform the following duties:
Support Parts, Materials and Process (PMP) requirements from customers; complete and submit PMP documentation (ADPMPL, NSMAR, NSMPAR, variances, etc) including supplier documentation and subcontractor delivery requirements documents as required; support customer PMP Review Board meetings as needed
Support design process by providing material selection recommendations, creating material specifications, reviewing design drawings, reviewing manufacturing planning, providing supplier technical support and supporting Engineering Review Boards, Process Change Boards, Failure Review Boards customer technical interchange meetings
Provide PMP status and present technical information in Program Status Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings as required.
Understand the fundamentals of general corrosion protection, make galvanic assessments based on design drawings and determine galvanic corrosion mitigation requirements for metal components.
Skills:
Familiar with MIL-STD-11991 or other DOD/Agency PMP requirements, such as the MDA PMAP. Familiar with writing material specifications and process specifications. Familiar with ASTM standards and industry material specifications.
Education:
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in a field such as Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering
