Sherpa 6 is seeking a Strategic Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide senior-level strategic planning, organizational integration, governance, and portfolio management support to PM Mounted Battle Command on the Move (PM MBCT) in support of the Command Post Environment (CPE) Ground mission. The SME serves as a trusted advisor to government leadership, facilitating strategic synchronization across functional areas, enabling informed decision-making, and driving organizational effectiveness through governance, planning, and operational integration initiatives.
This position requires exceptional communication, organizational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills to support executive-level decision-making and portfolio oversight within a dynamic Army acquisition and modernization environment.

Salary Range
The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.

This position requires exceptional communication, organizational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills to support executive-level decision-making and portfolio oversight within a dynamic Army acquisition and modernization environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Portfolio Integration
- Support organizational-level strategic planning, synchronization, and integration efforts across PM MBCT to align portfolio activities with leadership priorities, modernization objectives, and mission requirements.
- Lead capability identification, mapping, and analysis activities to establish portfolio visibility, identify capability gaps, and inform strategic decisions.
- Serve as a strategic integrator across PM MBCT functional areas to ensure alignment of priorities, initiatives, resources, and outcomes.
- Coordinate with higher headquarters, external organizations, and mission partners to support strategic initiatives and enterprise-wide collaboration.
Governance and Executive Management
- Develop, implement, and institutionalize governance frameworks, decision-making processes, organizational battle rhythms, and executive oversight mechanisms.
- Establish and support governance boards, councils, integrated product teams, working groups, and review forums to synchronize activities and drive organizational priorities.
- Draft and maintain governance charters, strategic plans, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), executive communications, and decision-support documentation.
- Monitor strategic initiatives, executive action items, and organizational objectives to ensure accountability, continuity, and timely execution.
Stakeholder Engagement and Organizational Coordination
- Facilitate coordination among government personnel, contractors, external stakeholders, and mission partners to promote unity of effort across the portfolio.
- Coordinate with technical, functional, and operational stakeholders to translate leadership priorities into executable requirements, initiatives, milestones, and tracking mechanisms.
- Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and communication plans to support organizational objectives and transformation efforts.
Process Improvement and Organizational Effectiveness
- Analyze organizational processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend and implement process enhancements that strengthen transparency, operational effectiveness, and cross-functional integration.
- Support organizational change management initiatives through governance development, implementation frameworks, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Executive Communications and Decision Support
- Develop executive-level briefings, information papers, decision papers, white papers, and strategic communications for senior leadership.
- Design and maintain portfolio management dashboards, reporting tools, metrics, and visualization products that provide leadership insight into capabilities, initiatives, dependencies, risks, and performance.
- Prepare leadership for governance reviews, strategic engagements, and executive decision forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Organizational Leadership, Management, Public Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting DoD, Army, acquisition, modernization, program management, or strategic operations organizations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing governance frameworks, strategic plans, and executive decision-making processes.
- Experience supporting senior executive leaders, General Officers, SES personnel, or equivalent leadership teams.
- Strong knowledge of Army acquisition, modernization, portfolio management, and organizational operations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience producing executive-level products.
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration among technical, operational, and organizational stakeholders.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Studies, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting PEO C3N, PEO IEW&S, PEO Digital, PM Mission Command, PM Tactical Network, PM C5ISR, or related Army modernization organizations.
- Knowledge of Army governance processes, capability development, requirements management, and portfolio management practices.
- PMP, DAWIA/Back-to-Basics certification, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management, or related professional certification.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
