ServiceNow Configuration Manager
Position Summary: The ServiceNow Configuration Manager is responsible for managing and governing the configuration, release, and operational integrity of the ServiceNow platform supporting the Department of Defense community. This position ensures that all platform configurations, application changes, system documentation, and configuration baselines are properly controlled, maintained, and aligned with cybersecurity, Agile development, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. The Configuration Manager serves as the focal point for configuration governance across development, testing, staging, and production environments while supporting Agile release management, software lifecycle management, system authorization activities, and continuous delivery initiatives. The individual will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Architects, Security Engineers, and Government stakeholders to ensure configuration accuracy, traceability, auditability, and operational readiness throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain ServiceNow platform configurations, releases, and environment baselines
• Establish and enforce configuration management policies, procedures, and governance standards
• Coordinate deployment activities across development, test, staging, and production environments
• Maintain configuration documentation, technical artifacts, and audit records
• Support Agile development teams by managing change requests, release schedules, and configuration controls
• Ensure compliance with RMF, NIST 800-53, STIG, and cybersecurity requirements
• Monitor system changes and verify configuration accuracy, consistency, and traceability
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment and security authorization activities
• Collaborate with developers, architects, cybersecurity personnel, and Government stakeholders
• Prepare configuration status reports, metrics, and recommendations for leadership
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• Agile software development teams and ServiceNow integration experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in configuration management, release management, systems administration, or ServiceNow administration
• Minimum 3 years supporting enterprise ServiceNow implementations
• Experience managing software releases and configuration baselines
• Experience supporting Federal Government, DoD, Intelligence Community, or National Security programs.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and automated deployment pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
• ITIL v4 Foundation Certification
• SAFe Agilist Certification
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
• DoD 8140 compliant cybersecurity certification
• Experience supporting classified environments, including SIPRNet and JWICS
Security Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizen
• Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
