Senior Windows Administrator (Systems Administrator – Senior)
The Opportunity:
IntePros Federal is identifying Key Personnel candidates for a proposed contract effort supporting the ALTESS Windows team in Radford, VA. As part of our bid submission, we are seeking a Senior Windows Administrator to support a mixed, growing Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022 environment.
This Key Personnel role will work closely with the existing Windows team to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers across a diverse customer environment. The Senior Windows Administrator will play a critical role in planning and implementing new system hardware and software, maintaining technical instructions and operating procedures, monitoring system performance, strengthening server security, and recommending technologies that improve efficiency and expand the current enterprise environment.

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience.
Certifications:
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Computing Environment (CE) certification, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Server+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), RedHat, Palo Alto, or equivalent; may be waived for up to 30 days after project start date.
Responsibilities - Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Windows Server Administration & Operations
• Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support Windows servers in a mixed customer environment.
• Plan, execute, and implement new system hardware and software solutions.
• Create and maintain technical instructions, operating procedures, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common issue resolution.
• Monitor and tune system performance and ensure ongoing operational stability of servers.
• Harden servers and report on overall security and operational status.
• Recommend improvements to the enterprise environment and support new software and hardware integrations as required.
• Provide utilization reports using existing tools to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and improve operational performance.
• Support the lifecycle of mixed vendor datacenter equipment, including firmware version control and periodic preventive maintenance.
• Recommend, demonstrate, and implement technologies that expand, upgrade, and increase efficiencies within the current environment.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure reliable service delivery and effective technical communication.
Qualifications REQUIRED
• Five or more years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator or Engineer.
• Three or more years of experience automating assigned tasks using PowerShell.
• Five or more years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex applications and websites, including Internet Information Services (IIS), Apache, or similar platforms.
• Five or more years of experience working in environments with complex networking solutions, including senior-level fundamental knowledge of networking principles, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and SNMP.
• Five or more years of experience managing enterprise-level Active Directory structures.
• Five or more years of experience creating and maintaining complex Microsoft Group Policy implementations.
• Five or more years of experience creating, maintaining, and following Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution.
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work as a team player.
Qualifications DESIRED
• Three or more years of experience supporting cybersecurity patch management and compliance activities, including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Security Requirements Guides (SRG), Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Control Assessor-Validator (SCA-V), and Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORA).
