Job Description

Duties

  • You will provide functional financial system support for Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial modules such as Asset Management, Controlling, Funds Management, Financial Accounting, Sales and Distribution, or Project Systems.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert for assigned Navy ERP module areas by researching transactions, master data, business process impacts, system defects, interfaces, reporting outputs, audit concerns, and downstream effects in related modules.
  • You will analyze and resolve financial system and business process issues by performing root-cause analysis, validating data, coordinating with process owners and subject matter experts, applying internal controls, and documenting corrective actions.
  • You will extract, interpret, reconcile, and analyze financial/business process data from systems such as Navy ERP or Systems Applications and Products using SAP reports, Microsoft Excel and Access, Generative Artificial Intelligence, and other tools.
  • You will support major business events and high-priority operational requirements by communicating technical and financial information to customers, leadership, program offices, process owners, and system users.
  • You will manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and recommend solutions that improve the accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and integrity of General Fund Business Office (GFBO) financial system operations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Displaying financial module expertise in at least one of the following modules: Asset Management (AM), Controlling (CO), Funds Management (FM), Financial Accounting (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), or Project Systems (PS); 2) Serving as a subject matter expert for at least one module, including researching transactions, master data, business process impacts, defects, interfaces, reporting outputs, audit concerns, and downstream effects in related modules; 3) Analyzing and resolving complex financial system or business process issues, including root-cause analysis, validation of data, coordination with process owners, and documentation of corrective actions; 4) Applying knowledge of federal financial management concepts, accounting/budget execution principles, internal controls, audit readiness, and applicable financial management policy; 5) Extracting, interpreting, and reconciling data from Navy ERP/SAP or equivalent systems using tools such as SAP reports, Excel, Access, GenAI, or other reporting/query tools; 6) Communicating accurate technical and financial information orally and in writing to customers, leadership, functional SMEs, program offices, and system users; 7) Building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers while providing timely, clear, and supportable guidance; and 8) Managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and supporting major business events such as period close, audit/data calls, system changes, process remediation, and high-priority customer issues.
