Job Description

Position Description & Qualifications

Serco is seeking an Experienced Facilitator/Trainer in Bremerton, WA to support the Navy Integrated Project Team Development (IPTD) program. This role focuses on developing high-performing teams within the Naval Ship Maintenance Community through targeted training, facilitation, and team-building initiatives.

The IPTD program is critical to Navy mission readiness, ensuring successful ship maintenance and operational excellence. In this role, you will design and deliver impactful training experiences that strengthen collaboration, enhance team dynamics, and support successful project execution.

This position is contingent upon your ability to achieve and maintain an active DoD Secret level clearance.

In this role, you will:

1. Training & Facilitation
  • Plan, design, and facilitate team-building sessions and leadership development activities.
  • Lead discussions to address team dynamics, improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build cohesion.
  • Create inclusive, engaging environments that foster trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, and confidence in solving complex challenges.
2. Program Support & Collaboration
  • Partner with IPTD program leadership to align training with Navy objectives and team development goals.
  • Identify and develop emerging leaders within project teams.
  • Guide teams in recognizing and leveraging individual and collective strengths.

3. Event Coordination & Execution
  • Coordinate logistics for training and team-building events, including scheduling, venue selection, and resource management.
  • Ensure all activities comply with NAVSEA guidelines and are conducted during official working hours.
  • Manage multiple events and priorities effectively.
4. Assessment & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using feedback, metrics, and performance data.
  • Provide reports, insights, and recommendations to NAVSEA leadership.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices for future program enhancements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Leadership, Communications, or a related field
    (OR equivalent experience: Associate's degree + 2 years additional experience, or High School Diploma/GED + 5 years additional experience)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • A minimum4 years of experience in:
    • Team-building facilitation
    • Leadership development
    • Organizational training or related fields
  • Exceptional facilitation and public speaking skills
  • The ability to manage group dynamics and foster inclusive environments
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with team-building tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Knowledge of U.S. Navy platforms (Submarines and Aircraft Carriers)
  • Experience supporting submarine or aircraft carrier programs, including maintenance activities
  • Experience leading projects and working directly with end users or customers
  • Knowledge of program management principles, including acquisition processes, change management, and Navy program execution
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA operations, mission, and organizational structure
  • Active-duty service in the submarine or aircraft carrier community is a plus
  • Certification in facilitation, coaching, or leadership development (e.g., ICF, Gallup StrengthsFinder)
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences
