Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Patrick SFB, Melbourne, FL is searching for an Equal Employment Director to support SLD 45 (NH-0260-03, GS-12/13 equivalent).
Description:
Are you a natural problem-solver who thrives on building positive, inclusive workplace cultures? Step into a critical leadership role as the Space Launch Delta 45 (SLD 45) Equal Opportunity (EO) Manager, where you will serve as the principal advisor to the Commander on all EO and conflict resolution matters. You won't just be managing compliance, you will be the driving force behind a healthy, productive environment for all our military and civilian personnel. If you are a proactive leader who excels at translating complex regulations into actionable strategies and resolving workplace disputes before they escalate, this is your chance to make a tangible, daily impact on our mission.
On any given day, your expertise will be front and center. You will lead and mentor a dedicated team, manage the installation's Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program, and partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders like the Staff Judge Advocate and the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator. From conducting organizational climate surveys and analyzing workplace trends, to advising senior leadership on critical EO incidents, your insights will directly shape executive decisions. If you are ready to advocate for fairness, champion proactive education, and confidently represent the installation at the highest levels, we want you on our team.
Ideal Candidate:
Decisive Leader - Acts as the principal advisor and an executive representative for the Commander, while also effectively supervising, mentoring, and managing the workload of a small, dedicated staff.
Diplomatic Collaborator - Builds seamless partnerships with key stakeholders (JA, SARC, HR) to proactively resolve conflicts and disrupt harm.
Autonomous Self-Starter - Independently prioritizes tasks, manages programs, and solves complex organizational problems with minimal oversight.
Analytical Problem-Solver - Conducts trend analysis to provide actionable, data-driven advice to the Commander.
Empathetic Mediator - Champions Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to fairly, objectively, and rapidly navigate workplace grievances.
Formal Education - Highly desired: Associate's or (preferably) bachelor's degree in a Social Services related program of study or area of focus.
Program Qualification - Highly desired: Certification from the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute as an Equal Opportunity Practitioner.
Program Expertise - Extensive experience managing military and civilian EO/EEO programs and applying EEOC, NDAA, and DoD regulations.
Supervisory Background - Proven history of assigning work, evaluating performance, and guiding the development of junior staff.
Conflict Resolution - Active certification and practical track record in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and mediation.
Data Assessment - Proficiency utilizing EO IT systems (EONet, Entellitrak, etc.) and executing organizational survey instruments.
Executive Advising - Strong ability to brief senior commanders on EO trend data and translate EEOC/DoD policies into actionable guidance.
