Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Elastic De velope r to work in our Arlington, VA office.

Role & Responsibilities:

Everforth ECS is seeking a skilled Senior Elastic Dev elop er to influence the design, operation, and evolution of our enterprise Elastic solution. This role is central to ensuring the platform remains secure, highly available , and optimized to support mission-critical analytics, search, observability, and security workloads across the organization.

The Senior Elastic D evel oper will work collaboratively as part of a dedicated engineering team, serving as a technical leader in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues within the Elastic Stack. They will proactively detect problems, identify emerging risks, and implement preventative measures to maintain a stable and resilient environment.

A core responsibility of this role is to drive thoughtful automation that simplifies operations and improves reliability. The Elastic Developer will participate in change control processes, maintain rigorous configuration management practices, and ensure the platform adheres to security and compliance standards. They will also support adjacent teams including SRE, DevOps, and Security while providing guidance on best practices for data ingestion, dashboards, and alerts.

This role will also partner closely with the Elastic vendor, engaging in support escalations, roadmap discussions, and collaborative planning around product innovation and new use cases. The Elastic Developer will help ensure ECS leverages emerging platform capabilities, stays aligned with best practices to continuously improve the platform maturity through a strong vendor relationship.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in data analysis and visualization using the Elastic Stack to enable stakeholders to transform platform data into meaningful insights. Ultimately, the Elastic Developer will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, advancing ECS's Elastic capabilities to deliver a robust, scalable, and high-performing platform.
Required Skills
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability
  • 4 + years general experience with Elasticsearch or equi valent products in the Elastic S tack
  • Proficiency in developing automated test suites that validate end-to-end data pipelines, API functionality, and system integration s
  • Strong Python and Bash scripting skills for automating Elasticsearch operations, building data pipelines, and managing cluster configurations
  • Experience with monitoring the Elastic Stack and resolving common issues
  • Experience with process control improvement
  • Comfortable leveraging Elastic APIs through Dev Tools and/or ad-hoc Scripting
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate difficult technical discussion into business language
  • Skilled at designing clear, efficient technical delivery plans that drive high-quality outcomes and predictable execution
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related field (or 4 additional years of related experience)
  • Experience leading a team or serving in a senior level role
  • Experience leveraging Kafka as a data queue for Elasticsearch ingestion
  • Experience with major version Elastic Stack upgrades to 9.x
  • Experience migrating and/or deploying to Elastic Cloud Hosted
  • Experience working in an Agile/ SAFe environment using ALM tools (Jira, Confluence, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and platforms (Jenkins, CircleCI , GitLab, GitHub Actions, Argo, Travis CI, etc.)
  • Expertise in configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • In-depth understanding of networking, security, and system administration of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of version control platforms and branching strategies
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and data replication
  • Experience supporting large Federal programs ($200M+)
