Senior Health Analytics Consultant
Remote / Washington, DC

Blu Omega is seeking a Senior Health Analytics Consultant to support a federal program focused on healthcare policy and payment models. This role operates remotely initially, with potential onsite work within 30 miles of Washington, D.C., NY, or MN offices. The position involves analyzing Medicare claims, developing analytical models, and supporting policy/payment model support. The primary function is advancing healthcare outcomes through data-driven insights within a government environment. The position requires experience in health analytics related to Medicare and Medicaid policies.
Program Overview
The project supports a Medicare initiative that shifts chronic disease care to outcome-based payments by incentivizing providers to use technology and continuous care. This involves tracking health data via wearable devices, enabling real-time adjustments to treatment plans, and enhancing patient outcomes.
Key Details
Location: Remote for the first six months; then 4 days onsite per week if within 30 miles of Washington, DC / NY / MN
Clearance: Public Trust (to be obtained after start)
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen required
Schedule: Full-time

Responsibilities
- Analyze Medicare claims data and related health data
- Develop and verify analysis parameters, prepare documentation, and write efficient analysis code using SQL, Python, R, SAS, or statistical methodologies
- Support healthcare policy and payment model initiatives with actionable insights
- Create detailed documentation and communicate findings effectively
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Public Policy, or related fields
- Six or more years of experience supporting health analytics, research, or consulting environments
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, and/or SAS for data analysis
- Experience with healthcare claims and enrollment data within large data warehouse environments
- Strong knowledge of healthcare data structures, patient attribution, and claims data
- Ability to develop and verify analysis parameters, create documentation, and produce high-quality code
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex analyses and collaborating with teams
Compensation
Salary Range: $115,000 - $139,000
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
