Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Center Authorization to Operate (ATO) Specialist to support a prime contractor supporting the Department of Defense. This position is onsite in Warner Robins, GA. This is a contract opportunity supporting a national leader in secure systems and data center modernization.
The Data Center ATO Specialist will lead the end-to-end Authorization to Operate (ATO) process for a new data center, ensuring compliance with federal security standards and successful accreditation. This role partners with engineering, security, and leadership teams to deliver a compliant, secure, and fully operational data center environment.
Responsibilities of the Data Center ATO Specialist include:
· Lead the full ATO lifecycle, including planning, documentation, risk assessment, and authorization activities
· Develop and maintain security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, and POA&Ms
· Ensure compliance with NIST RMF, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and DoD security standards
· Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and gap remediation efforts
· Coordinate with Authorizing Officials (AOs), auditors, and third-party assessors to support accreditation
· Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely ATO completion
· Collaborate with IT, network, facilities, and security teams to implement and validate security controls
Qualifications for the Data Center ATO Specialist include:
· Active DoD Secret clearance
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
· 10+ years of experience in information security, compliance, or data center operations
· Proven experience leading ATO processes for data centers or large-scale IT systems (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA)
· Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and/or ISO 27001 frameworks
· One or more certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CAP, PMP, or equivalent
· Experience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM platforms, and configuration management tools
Compensation for the Data Center ATO Specialist includes:
· Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 based on experience
