We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer - Electronic Packaging & Thermal Analysis to support the design, development, analysis, and validation of advanced electromechanical systems for defense applications. This role focuses on mechanical packaging design, structural and thermal analysis, shock and vibration testing, design for manufacturability (DFM), and rapid research and development prototyping using tools such as Creo and ANSYS in a fast-paced DoD engineering environment.

We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer - Electronic Packaging & Thermal Analysis to support the design, development, analysis, and validation of advanced electromechanical systems for defense applications. This role focuses on mechanical packaging design, structural and thermal analysis, shock and vibration testing, design for manufacturability (DFM), and rapid research and development prototyping using tools such as Creo and ANSYS in a fast-paced DoD engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and validate mechanical and electronic packaging solutions for advanced electromechanical systems.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional engineering teams supporting product development from concept through verification.
- Perform mechanical design, structural analysis, thermal analysis, shock and vibration analysis, and design verification activities.
- Develop mechanical solutions optimized for manufacturability, reliability, and system performance.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using CAD tools such as Creo.
- Support rapid modeling, prototype development, and verification of research and development designs.
- Conduct engineering analyses using computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools to evaluate structural and thermal performance.
- Develop engineering documentation including procedures, specifications, design packages, and technical reports.
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, and product validation activities.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering, government, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience designing mechanical and electronic packaging for electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software to develop mechanical models and engineering drawings, including Creo or similar platforms.
- Experience using computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools for structural, thermal, or CFD analysis, including ANSYS or equivalent.
- Knowledge of structural mechanics, thermal management, shock and vibration analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience supporting fast-paced research and development programs involving rapid design iterations and verification.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and applicable engineering standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with small form factor, high-power electromechanical assemblies.
- Experience with high-pressure applications and sealing technologies.
- Experience developing engineering procedures, specifications, design packages, and technical reports.
- Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis.
- Experience leading engineering design, prototype fabrication, and testing efforts.
- Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated engineering environments.
