Manufacturing Technician - Contractor - B (2nd Shift, Space Hardware) Location: Wilmington, MA, 01887 About the Role Join our high-impact team as a Manufacturing Technician (Precision Cleaner), supporting cutting-edge space hardware projects for mission-critical applications. This 2nd shift position (2PM-11:30PM, 9/80 schedule) offers overtime opportunities and the chance to work in a state-of-the-art ISO 5 cleanroom. You'll play a key role in ensuring components meet the highest cleanliness standards required for successful space missions. Responsibilities - Execute precision cleaning of space hardware parts to stringent technical cleanliness specifications (100A/2 level) - Follow detailed engineering instructions and process documentation to complete cleaning, inspection, and testing tasks - Perform particulate counts and Non-Volatile Residue (NVR) testing to verify parts are virtually contaminant-free - Operate cleaning and testing equipment per established protocols in a controlled cleanroom environment - Document all cleaning activities, inspection results, and report deviations or issues to engineering and quality teams - Wear a full cleanroom bunny suit and maintain strict adherence to safety and contamination control protocols - Collaborate with engineers and team members to clarify requirements and support continuous process improvements - Lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 lbs and be comfortable working with solvents like isopropyl alcohol (IPA) - Train on 1st shift until certified in precision cleaning processes Required Skills and Experience - High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years relevant experience, or Associate Degree with 0-2 years relevant experience - Proficiency in following technical instructions and strict process documentation - Ability to work independently in a high-standard cleanroom setting - Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and capability to handle delicate hardware - Eligibility to work as a US Person (required for compliance) - Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor safely Preferred Skills - Experience in a Class 100 (ISO 5) cleanroom environment - Familiarity with particulate counting and NVR testing - Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Ability to read technical drawings and schematics - Eligibility for US Secret security clearance Benefits - Overtime available on off Fridays and weekends - Hands-on training with advanced cleaning technologies and certification in precision processes - Work within a mission-driven team advancing aerospace innovation - Opportunities for professional development in a high-growth, high-tech industry How to Apply Ready to play a vital role in the future of space exploration?
