Job Description

Duties

  • You will install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot any hardware and software components.
  • You will participate on a team designing, developing, testing, and implementing software for less complex programs, such as modifying input forms.
  • You will create network maps and troubleshoot network problems such as outages and latencies.
  • You will assist with the installation of network equipment such as network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points.
  • You will assist customers with connecting to wireless network devices and networked printers.
  • You will report, respond to, and resolves customer's request.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • IAT Level II certification is mandatory within 6 months of assignment to position, as required by DoD! 8S70.l-M. Employee must possess and maintain Security + or similar accepted certification.
  • Position requires occasional work after normal duty hours to install new technology or correct user and network issues.
  • This position is subject to recall for outages, issues, and upgrades.
  • You will be required to possess maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • The employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
Qualifications

You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Participates in the design, development, and testing of software.

2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Manages and resolves help center call requests.

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Present formal and informal training to the customers.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Troubleshoots hardware and software for customers

In addition to the listed competencies, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide customers through out the organization support services such as installing and troubleshooting hardware and software, answering and responding to calls ensuring a resolution is made on simple and complex levels, and developing software and installing and testing programs and installation of network equipment.

Education

In lieu of Specialized Experience, you may qualify based on the education requirements below:

Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree

OR

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
