Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a technology-driven program within a federal defense environment. This position is available on-site at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Florida. This is a direct-hire opportunity supporting a mission focused on secure systems operations and infrastructure modernization.
The Systems Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise systems while supporting users, infrastructure, and security requirements across a dynamic technical environment. This role requires strong operating system expertise, networking fundamentals, virtualization experience, and scripting capability.

Responsibilities for the Systems Administrator include:
- Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux operating systems across enterprise environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot system performance, availability, and configuration issues.
- Implement and support core networking services including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure secure, stable, and efficient system operations.
- Provide system support in both independent and team-based environments.
Required Qualifications for the Systems Administrator include:
- 3+ years of professional system administration experience.
- Strong understanding of Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Security+, SecurityX, CASP, or DoD 8140 IAT Level II-equivalent certification.
- Active Secret Clearance (must be current).
Compensation for the Systems Administrator includes:
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 **depending on experience**
