Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) provides advanced cybersecurity services supporting mission-critical federal programs that protect government agencies and critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. We are seeking an Applications Developer II to support a critical customer mission by designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining software solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will work with modern development frameworks, automation tools, and containerized technologies to build secure, scalable applications that support cybersecurity operations and mission success.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement software solutions supporting end-to-end application development and service integrations.
• Design, develop, enhance, debug, integrate, and deploy software for both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to software applications, CI/CD pipelines, and automated workflows.
• Research, evaluate, test, and integrate new software products and technologies based on mission requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend commercial and open-source software packages, integration tools, and testing solutions.
• Automate software deployments, testing, and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Ansible, Terraform, Git CI, and similar technologies.
• Improve software development processes, documentation, and coding standards.
• Perform quality assurance through automated testing, staged deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure and optimize Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS), and open-source technologies to support mission objectives.
• Develop and maintain applications within Linux-based and containerized environments including OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), AlmaLinux, and Docker.
• Collaborate with customers and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
• Work effectively with distributed teams across multiple locations.

Mandatory Skills
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
• Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
• 2+ years of directly relevant application development experience
• Knowledge of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), source code management, and version control
• Experience evaluating and integrating Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software products
• Experience installing, testing, validating, and evaluating software applications and development tools
• Strong hands-on experience with Python development and Linux command-line environments
• Knowledge of software automation, application development, and RESTful API architecture
• Experience with data ETL workflows supporting on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Experience developing applications using container technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and Red Hat OpenShift
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Git-based CI/CD pipelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting customers in project environments or technical demonstrations
• Ability to work collaboratively across remote and on-site teams
