As part of the AWS Infrastructure organization, Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) prepares for, plans, and builds the data centers that comprise the AWS cloud. Dedicated Infrastructure Planning and Delivery are the team responsible for the delivery of physical data center infrastructure to serve government customers. Our team has a diverse background including commercial, prior military service and former government experience. Our team is split between the Seattle Metro and the DMV area and we manage projects across the US, while interfacing with our peers overseas. We're seeking an experienced Manager of Technical Infrastructure Program Managers in Herndon or Arlington VA, or Seattle WA, to oversee data center infrastructure expansion projects in support of U.S. Government customers. The Technical Infrastructure Program Managers reporting to you will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Along the way, they will use judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader and exceptionally strong communicator, both written and verbally. Calibrated judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent and leadership is a must, along with the capacity to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments is a plus. The TIPM Manager will be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration a plus. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. You will be responsible for delivering data center projects in multiple geographic regions. You will maintain and iterate on the mechanisms for reporting project status amongst program stakeholders. A day in the life You will be engaging with multiple leaders of other teams on a daily basis to ensure program success and the strategic plan of the business continues to meet the ever changing customer needs. You will hire, develop, and mentor junior team members in the culture of AWS.
