Solidus is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on analyzing product specifications, designing manufacturing workflows, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
Day in the Life:
- Responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes by studying products and production methods
- Lead the design, control, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes in collaboration with cross functional teams
- Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, and tool/fixture designs
- Translate engineering design requirements into efficient, scalable manufacturing processes
- Provide daily troubleshooting support for manufacturing areas and integrate engineering changes into MDPs
- Lead nonconforming material analysis, including root cause and corrective action investigations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, automate processes, improve ergonomics, and reduce costs using Six Sigma and data driven decision making
- Support manufacturers and fabricators both internal teams and supply base partners with real-time technical assistance
- Develop and implement process control and performance monitoring systems
- Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence of issues
- Collaborate effectively with internal customers to ensure production success
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Experience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and data driven improvement tools
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, and supply chain teams
- Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment
