Job Description
As a Senior React Front End Developer, your responsibilities will include (1) developing the front-end solution for a computational based application, (2) providing inputs that drive the architecture of the overall application, (3) contributing to the development decision-making process with a clear understanding of how decisions influence each other and (4) help grow the team by mentoring junior developers.
Additionally, you will contribute to the overall integration of the computational, analysis, and visualization capabilities of the system.
Your day-to-day tasks will include planning and executing the development of cloud-enabled web applications while helping to plan the evolution of the environment. In addition, activities include:
- Build great customer experiences by developing the web-UI front-end for a vital Department of Defense service.
- Grow technically by providing input and, at times, help develop the back-end system of this service.
- Collaborate with our customers, colleagues, and other ARA teams in defining and developing an integrated solution.
- Contribute to our high-engineering standards on the team through quality code and process consistency.
Due to the work you’ll perform and interactions with intelligence community and DoD programs you must have a Secret level or higher security clearance.
We are seeking a Staff II Front End Developer for a mission application to be deployed in security-compliant cloud environments. You will be a core member of the development team in helping to define, develop and deploy this vital cloud service for use in the Department of Defense. This system is deployed through web services and Docker containers deployed to Kubernetes clusters. Candidate will have a strong passion and background in software development and making quality production software at all stages of the software lifecycle, and able to take ownership of project execution.
As a primary contributor to our project team, your responsibilities will include (1) defining and implementing incremental improvements to deploy our current weapon effects software architecture (2) supporting project/product management tasking as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using GitLab services.
- Experience deploying and integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software into a cloud environment.
- Experience with ADA and Section 508 compliance
- Experience working on US Government programs.
-They're mostly going to be working with YAML and JSON config. So they'll need to be able to understand Terraform config and create Terraform config, they'll need to be able to work with Helm charts in Kubernetes, which is YAML based. So those are critical. Also having some background working on Linux systems with Linux commands is something that they look for.
