Senior Full Stack Developer

Blu Omega is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to support a federal program focused on enterprise AI development. This role operates within a hybrid environment and is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications supporting enterprise search, AI-enabled workflows, and mission-critical integrations. The position requires experience supporting secure, cloud-native applications within a government environment.
Program Overview
Supporting CBP's cloud adoption and modernization strategy by integrating and managing cloud services across on-premise and hybrid environments, with a focus on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The program enables scalable, resilient, and secure mission systems, including migration of legacy systems and development of cloud-native solutions.
Location: Ashburn, VA / Hybrid (local preferred, flexible based on residence)
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required as a precondition of employment

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting enterprise search, AI-enabled workflows, and mission-focused capabilities.
- Build modern user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and microservices for secure access to enterprise data and AI functionalities.
- Develop connectors and integrations to enable AI applications, agents, and search services to interact with enterprise systems and mission data sources.
- Design and implement scalable APIs and service layers supporting data retrieval, search, analytics, and decision support.
- Build and maintain database schemas, data services, and application integrations across multiple platforms.
- Support AI-enabled application features, including integrations with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent-based workflows.
- Collaborate with architects, AI engineers, data engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable solutions.
- Develop and deploy containerized applications using modern DevOps and cloud-native practices.
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, and reliability standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise software across front-end and back-end technologies.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack web applications.
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs and system integrations.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational/NoSQL databases.
- Experience developing and integrating microservices and distributed applications.
- Experience deploying secure cloud-native applications in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with secure software development principles and enterprise architecture.
- Understanding of AI-enabled applications, Generative AI, LLMs, or enterprise search solutions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Vertex AI, Gemini, or Databricks.
- Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and AI-powered applications.
- Knowledge of AI agents, orchestration services, or agent-based workflows.
- Experience with enterprise search, knowledge management, or discovery platforms.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud automation tools.
- Support experience within federal government environments.
- Knowledge of LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or similar AI frameworks.
Compensation
Salary Range: $165,000 - $175,000
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
