Overview
Tecolote Research is seeking an Acquisition Manager to support the Space Systems Command (SSC) and the United States Space Force (USSF) with high-level acquisition strategy development, program analysis, and enterprise-level strategic planning. This position is full-time at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA. Secret Clearance required.

Tecolote Research is seeking an Acquisition Manager to support the Space Systems Command (SSC) and the United States Space Force (USSF) with high-level acquisition strategy development, program analysis, and enterprise-level strategic planning. This position is full-time at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA. Secret Clearance required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate acquisition documentation (e.g., strategy, systems engineering plan, IMP/IMS) for compliance and execution risk. Recommend strategies per FAR Subpart 7.1 and conduct market research under FAR Part 10. Develop transition plans and collect "lessons learned" to improve acquisition processes.
- Support strategic planning aligned with USAF, USSF, and AFSPC directives. Ensure integration across SSC and higher headquarters. Manage enterprise-level planning schedules and synchronize with Space Enterprise Vision goals.
- Develop multiple approach options for USG goals, analyze trade-offs, assess resource needs, and support Integrated Product Team (IPT) development and planning.
- Create and update implementation guides and standardized processes. Assist with developing and maintaining SSC policies in compliance with FAR/DFARS and DoD directives. Support governance and publish planning guidance.
- Assist in the evaluation of proposed pricing, technical approach, and contract risk posture.
Skills Required
- Active Secret clearance
- 12+ years of experience in DoD acquisition, systems engineering, or strategic planning
- Deep understanding of FAR, DFARS, DoD 5000 series, and space-related acquisition programs
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000/Year, DOE
Preferred:- TS/SCI strongly preferred
- Experience with USSF, SSC, or other space acquisition organizations
- Familiarity with Space Enterprise Vision and SMC-wide strategic planning efforts
- PMP, DAWIA Level III, or similar certifications
Education
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
