RF Engineer (Cleared Position)
Category: Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering
Overview
Seeking a motivated RF Engineer to support the design, testing, and performance validation of RF and microwave systems in a mission-driven environment. This role focuses on solving complex technical challenges through system-level thinking, hands-on testing, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills and experience working with RF systems in lab and operational settings.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute Subsystem Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs)
Support review and analysis of electro-mechanical system drawings
Troubleshoot system failures and performance issues across RF systems
Conduct lab-based testing to evaluate RF and functional performance against requirements
Operate RF systems and test equipment to validate system functionality and compliance
Maintain and support configuration management processes post-system baseline
Review and validate:
System design documentation
Operational procedures and checklists
User manuals and training materials for accuracy and completeness
Assist in system architecture and design development, including:
RF block diagrams
Power distribution models
Functional system flows
Support hardware, software, and firmware integration and testing
Perform data analysis and performance analysis of RF systems
Contribute to thermal, safety, and reliability reviews
Recommend and evaluate COTS components based on:
Performance requirements
Size, weight, and power constraints (SWaP)
Assist with bench-level prototyping and component validation
Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in RF Engineering and Radio Frequency systems
Experience working with antennas and RF subsystems
Ability to conduct system-level troubleshooting and performance testing
Hands-on experience with RF test equipment and lab environments
Familiarity with engineering documentation and system design processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with wireless networks and telecommunications systems
Background in RF design or performance engineering
Knowledge of radio systems and signal analysis
Experience with system integration and troubleshooting in complex environments
Additional Qualifications
Familiarity with RF systems development lifecycle
Experience supporting structured engineering frameworks and requirements-driven design
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
