Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Senior Network Design Engineer / Network Architect supporting a large-scale, mission-critical enterprise environment. This role is primarily onsite in Barstow, CA and requires an active Secret clearance (or higher). The engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network management and monitoring solutions across LAN, BAN, and WAN environments. This individual will partner closely with government and contractor teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure aligned with operational readiness.
This position is responsible for leading end-to-end network engineering efforts, including architecture design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex network environments. The role supports network conversions, upgrades, and cutover activities while enabling near real-time situational awareness across IT systems and infrastructure. Additional responsibilities include system integration, server installation, and configuration, as well as supporting Active Directory (AD), LDAP, PKI, and two-factor authentication implementations. The engineer will maintain monitoring platforms and dashboards, perform backups and disaster recovery processes, apply security patches, and conduct advanced troubleshooting using packet inspection and monitoring tools.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, BAN, and WAN network environments
Lead network integration, testing, and troubleshooting across large-scale infrastructures
Support network upgrades, migrations, and cutover activities
Enable NetOps visibility and situational awareness through enterprise monitoring tools
Perform system integration, server installation, and hardware/software configuration
Maintain and support AD/LDAP environments and PKI integrations
Develop and manage network monitoring dashboards and performance tools
Execute backup, disaster recovery, and security patching processes
Troubleshoot network issues using tools such as Wireshark and similar analyzers
Work across multi-vendor environments and centralized management platforms
Candidates must have strong experience in enterprise network engineering, including deep expertise with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), as well as hands-on experience with routers, firewalls, and WAN technologies. A solid background in network monitoring, performance management, and situational awareness tools is essential. Experience with Cisco technologies is required, while familiarity with Palo Alto, Juniper, NetScout, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is preferred. Prior experience in NetOps or large-scale government network environments is highly valued.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance (or higher)
10+ years of IT and network engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
ITIL v3 Foundation certification
Strong expertise in enterprise network design and engineering
Experience with network performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)
Familiarity with NetScout (nGenius, InfiniStream) or similar platforms
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (HP OMi, NNMi)
Knowledge of Network Access Control / Comply-to-Connect solutions
Experience supporting DoD or highly regulated environments
Background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration
