Lead the development and implementation of enterprise Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) capabilities supporting a diverse portfolio of aerospace and defense programs. Drive digital engineering transformation through model architecture development, tool integration, automation of engineering deliverables, and establishment of model-centric engineering practices that enable a true digital thread across the organization.
A Day in the Life - What you'll do
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level MBSE reference architectures that support multiple programs and product lines across the organization.
  • Lead the implementation and governance of model-based engineering frameworks that promote consistency, reuse, and scalability across engineering teams.
  • Develop and maintain complex system models using Cameo Systems Modeler (2022), ensuring technical accuracy, traceability, and alignment with program objectives.
  • Establish and optimize Model-to-Document automation pipelines that generate customer-facing deliverables directly from authoritative system models.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, chief engineers, and program leadership to ensure models accurately reflect system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and behaviors.
  • Serve as the organization's MBSE subject matter expert, guiding technical teams in the adoption and execution of model-centric engineering practices.
  • Train systems engineers and technical contributors on model interaction, data entry, model governance, and digital engineering best practices.
  • Promote and enforce the use of engineering models as the organization's single source of truth for requirements, architecture, verification, and design information.
  • Integrate MBSE workflows with requirements management, verification, validation, and configuration management processes.
  • Develop workflows and automation capabilities that improve engineering efficiency, reduce manual documentation efforts, and enhance program execution.
  • Support technical reviews, architecture reviews, design reviews, and customer engagements by leveraging model-generated data and artifacts.
  • Evaluate emerging MBSE and Digital Engineering technologies and recommend improvements that strengthen organizational engineering capabilities.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish long-term MBSE strategies supporting organizational growth and future program needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, or Model-Based Systems Engineering experience supporting complex technical programs.
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing and maintaining complex system models using Cameo Systems Modeler (2022).
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing MBSE architectures supporting large-scale or multi-program engineering environments.
  • Experience establishing model governance processes, modeling standards, and digital engineering best practices.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes including requirements development, architecture definition, verification, validation, and configuration management.
  • Experience developing automated Model-to-Document workflows and generating engineering deliverables directly from system models.
  • Experience training and mentoring engineers on MBSE methodologies, modeling practices, and digital engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of requirements traceability and the role of authoritative system models within engineering programs.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, program leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in collaborative, cross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating Cameo models with Jama Connect for requirements management, traceability, and lifecycle management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and Digital Engineering principles.
  • Experience implementing digital threads and model-centric engineering environments across multiple programs.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, space, missile defense, autonomous systems, or other highly complex defense programs.
  • Knowledge of SysML and advanced systems architecture modeling techniques.
  • Experience integrating MBSE environments with engineering, testing, verification, and configuration management toolsets.
  • Experience developing custom model automation, scripting, reporting, and engineering workflow solutions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level Digital Engineering transformation initiatives.
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Digital Engineering Strategy initiatives and modern acquisition frameworks.
