GVI Inc., a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer - Undersea Warfare & Sensor Systems to join our Team in Newport, RI.
Support the Future of U.S. Navy Maritime Dominance
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support advanced U.S. Navy programs involving Towed, Hull and Sensor System Technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical technology that directly contributes to next-generation undersea systems
Key Responsibilities
Technical Investigations
You will be responsible for conducting engineering investigations involving degraded system performance, equipment failures, intermittent operational issues, requirement deviations, platform integration challenges, component obsolescence, and training or readiness shortfalls. The successful candidate will analyze technical issues identified throughout the entire system lifecycle. Based on these investigations, you will develop alternative solutions, recommend system upgrades, and prepare corrective action plans for Government review.
Systems Engineering Documentation
In this role you will review and assess a wide range of technical documentation including system specifications, engineering drawings, design documents, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), test plans and reports, maintenance documentation, operational requirements documents, and logistics support materials. You will develop, maintain, program documentation, including System Engineering Plans (SEPs), performance specifications, design documentation, engineering notebooks, measurement and analysis plans, logistics documentation, and configuration management artifacts.
System Effectiveness & Reliability Analysis
You will be responsible for analyzing operational and developmental test data to assess overall system effectiveness against Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), Key System Attributes (KSAs), and technical performance requirements. Your responsibilities include evaluating system designs to predict and improve reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA), while assessing subsystem and component performance trends to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Trend Analysis & Continuous Improvement
You be leading performing analyses of fleet operational data to identify emerging technical issues, reliability concerns, performance degradation trends, and operational risk areas. Based on these findings, you will recommend component and system upgrades, as well as improvements to depot-level, intermediate-level, and fleet maintenance procedures.

Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Towed Sensor Systems, Hull-Mounted Sensor Systems, and Maritime Sensor Systems
Location: Newport, Rhode Island
