The engineer works closely with cross‑functional teams to support product development, ensure efficient use of resources, and deliver safe, high‑performing electronic solutions.

Job Summary
The Sr. Electrical Engineer (III) is an experienced individual contributor with strong expertise in electronic design and battery technologies. This role applies advanced knowledge of electrical‑engineering principles to design, analyze, and test complex circuits and battery‑powered systems. The engineer works closely with cross‑functional teams to support product development, ensure efficient use of resources, and deliver safe, high‑performing electronic solutions.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- • Design, model, simulate, and test complex electronic circuits, subsystems, and systems.
• Support designs with analysis, simulations, and calculations including SPICE and Mathcad.
• Create schematic drawings and support PCB design, layout, and routing of sub‑assemblies and systems.
• Design primary and rechargeable battery packs for high‑volume military products.
• Develop component, sub‑assembly, and system‑level analysis to ensure power‑management designs meet technical and safety requirements.
• Design power‑delivery systems for battery‑operated devices, including performance, safety, and manufacturing considerations.
• Perform component, sub‑assembly, and system‑level testing for power‑delivery system performance.
• Collaborate with vendors to develop battery‑pack drawings and assemblies.
• Prepare documentation required for engineering and manufacturing activities.
• Conduct complex in‑house tests and provide technical guidance or mentoring as needed (without formal leadership responsibilities).
• Apply risk analysis, failure analysis, and root‑cause methods within the electronic‑engineering discipline.
• Support product, process, and system issues; recommend enhancements and cost reductions; initiate ECNs; and evaluate cost impacts.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of engineering activities.
• Evaluate materials and systems; identify equipment; or prepare work instructions for manufacturing.
• Provide training or direction to engineers, technicians, or manufacturing operators as needed (not in a supervisory capacity).
• Provide technical input to bid and proposal activities.
• Communicate technical information to customers, suppliers, or vendors.
• Travel and participate in product field tests.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with hands-on implementation expertise in electronic design, simulation, modeling, analysis and test of electronic assemblies and systems.
Skills and Abilities
- • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Hands‑on experience in electronic design, simulation, modeling, analysis, and testing.
• Detailed knowledge of UN/DOT 38.3 and NAVSEA S9310‑AQ‑SAF‑010 specifications, including qualifying battery designs against those requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of primary and rechargeable battery chemistry and battery‑pack design.
• Experience designing battery‑pack safety features such as TCO, PTC, fuses, and high/low‑resistance short detection.
• Ability to apply both formal training and practical experience to generate innovative solutions.
• Ability to write proposals, cost estimates, and schedule estimates, and participate in presentations.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• High initiative, self‑motivation, and the ability to work independently on technical matters.
• Ability to travel and participate in field tests.
