About the Job
The Data Analyst supports the USCENTCOM J6 Data Office by delivering data analytics, reporting, and predictive analytics capabilities that advance USCENTCOM’s transformation into a data-centric organization. Working within the Data Analytic Environment (DAE) and Data Analytic Services (DAS), this role focuses on data management, governance, integration, visualization, and analytical development. The Data Analyst collaborates closely with the USCENTCOM J6 Executive Data Officer (XDO), data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure data quality, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Visualization
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Qlik, Excel, and other analytics tools.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership to support informed decision-making.
  • Support predictive and advanced analytics initiatives, including the application of AI and machine learning techniques.

Data Management & Governance
  • Perform data modeling, data wrangling, cleansing, and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Apply data governance practices including data cataloging, metadata tagging, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support the management and accessibility of geographically dispersed data sources and associated metadata.
  • Ensure compliance with established data management and governance standards.

Collaboration & Data Integration
  • Partner with data engineers to support the development and maintenance of automated data pipelines and integration processes.
  • Collaborate with the USCENTCOM J6 Executive Data Officer (XDO) and other stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of data infrastructure within the Data Analytic Environment (DAE).

Agile Project Execution
  • Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage work items, sprint activities, and project deliverables.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Apply Scrum and Agile methodologies to deliver analytics solutions that adapt to evolving mission requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts that enhance team collaboration and project execution.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and 3–5 years of relevant data analytics experience.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, Qlik, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data integration, data cleansing, and data governance best practices.
  • Experience utilizing Azure DevOps (ADO) for work management, sprint tracking, and project execution.
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) data strategies, data mesh, and data fabric architectures.
  • Experience working within military, defense, or government data environments.
  • Cloud platform experience and certifications in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data cataloging, metadata management, and governance programs.
  • Familiarity with large-scale data environments and modern data analytics platforms.
