Job Description:
- The Key Personnel Technical Lead provides end-to-end technical leadership for the design, development, integration, and sustainment of satellite ground systems and SOC capabilities.
- This role serves as the senior technical authority across Task Orders, ensuring alignment with mission requirements, system performance objectives, and modern engineering practices.
- The Technical Lead operates at the intersection of systems engineering, integration, and mission operations, driving innovation consistent with our approach to Agile, DevSecOps, and digital engineering transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Systems Engineering:
- Lead the application of disciplined Systems Engineering (SE) processes across the system lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs) and ensure alignment with Government standards.
- Provide technical oversight for system architecture, requirements, interfaces, and performance.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, single points of failure, and EOL/EOS issues.
Ground System Development & Integration:
- Oversee development and integration of hardware, software, and mission-specific applications for satellite operations.
- Lead integration of:
- Telemetry, tracking, and commanding (TT&C) systems
- Mission planning and scheduling tools
- COTS/GOTS software and cloud-based environments
- Ensure interoperability with external mission partners and systems.
Mission Integration & Testing:
- Lead technical execution of:
- SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and integration readiness events
- Test planning, execution, and validation activities
- Develop and implement automated, iterative testing approaches aligned with Agile/DevSecOps.
- Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements.
Operational Support & Sustainment:
- Provide technical oversight for 24x7 SOC operations and sustainment activities.
- Guide troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and anomaly resolution.
- Ensure robust backup, recovery, and system resiliency capabilities.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Ensure systems comply with RMF, ATO/ATC/IATT requirements, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Support ISSE activities, vulnerability assessments, and secure architecture design.
- Integrate cybersecurity into system design and lifecycle processes.
Collaboration & Innovation:
- Work closely with Government engineers, operators, and mission partners to solve complex technical challenges.
- Champion modern engineering practices, including:
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Agile software development
- DevSecOps pipelines
- Support concept development, AoAs, and future mission capability planning.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of technical experience in satellite ground systems, system integration, or mission operations.
- Demonstrated leadership in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience supporting Space Force, Air Force, or DoD space programs.
- Strong background in system integration, testing, and operations.

Education Level:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
