Description:The Production Area Manager (Rotary Wing) is responsible for the systematic execution, operational oversight, and strategic management of the Rotary Wing (RW) Aviation production area operating within a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) environment. This role ensures all Rotary Wing task orders are executed in strict compliance with aviation standards, established organizational procedures, collective bargaining mandates, and enterprise-level requirements.
Leading a dedicated support team and a unionized workforce, the Manager oversees cost, schedule, and quality elements while fostering a collaborative labor relations climate, continuous improvement, safety adherence, and constant audit readiness.

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing a diverse portfolio of complex aviation projects, task orders, and multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to deliver clear executive-level briefings and facilitate seamless cross-functional coordination.
Demonstrated change management experience, specifically in driving continuous improvement initiatives, updating standard operating procedures, and leading teams through operational transitions.
Ability to travel as required to support program operations, facilitate off-site coordination, or attend enterprise reviews.
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) to manage scheduling, analyze cost data, and draft technical procedures.
Desired Skills:
Deep domain knowledge of Rotary Wing (RW) aircraft platforms and defense aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or DCMA 8210.1C aviation ground and flight operations procedures.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent program management certification. Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification with a proven track record of implementing continuous improvement/Kaizen events in a production environment.
Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), cost-performance analysis, and master scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project or Primavera). Experience managing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Direct experience leading or supporting formal quality audits such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or military aviation readiness reviews. Strong background in writing, implementing, and enforcing standardized operating procedures (SOPs).
Experience operating within US Government / Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environments, specifically managing complex Task Order structures.
