Job Description

Duties

  • You will serve as a Management Assistant in the Military Personnel Division (N12), Manpower and Personnel Department (N1) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMSLANT).
  • You will process necessary documents to ensure the newly reported personnel are gained onboard in a timely manner as well as in accordance with stated procedures.
  • You will provide maintenance to the military personnel database that contains personal information on all military assigned to NCTAMS LANT as well as current status and location of assignment.
  • You will be responsible for personnel check in and check out and interface with Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) and supports the Transaction Online Processing (TOPS) system.
  • You will conduct research on pay entitlements (Temporary Lodging Expense, Dependent Lodging Allowance, Special Incentive Pay, etc.) and provide up to date information to the Transaction Support Center (TSC).
  • You will serve as Command Pay/Personnel Administrator (CPPA) and military leave control clerk for the command.
  • You will maintain the Leave Control Log for the command to include, monitoring and correcting military personnel leave chits.
  • You will process military fitreps and evals and ensure timely and accurate submission mailing.
  • You will be responsible for the management of pregnant personnel and limited duty personnel and management of manpower documents and records.
  • You will research and prepare advancement paperwork for Officer Promotions and submit documents to Navy Personnel Command within specified timelines.

Qualifications

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:

-Experience utilizing Microsoft Office systems such as Access or similar applications.
-Experience maintaining personnel database records in accordance with policy.
-Experience providing administrative and clerical assistance to provide guidance and support in the department.
-Experience utilizing personnel accounting and pay systems.

This position is within the Work Category TECHNICIAN & ADMIN SUPPORT at Work Level ENTRY/DEVELOPMENTAL Series and Grade GG-0344-06.

This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Permanent and term employees currently serving in a probationary period in the competitive service or a probationary or trial period in the excepted service will complete the period as prescribed in their original conditions of employment in the new CES position if they transfer without a break in service or are promoted, demoted, or reassigned to a CES position.
