Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which: 1) Performing law enforcement activities such as patrol, criminal investigations, forensics, and administration; 2) Providing training and guidance on law enforcement regulations and procedures; and 3) Leading security or law enforcement teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Additional information
- Serve as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at Installation Management Command (IMCOM) supported installations.
- Provide sworn testimony based on investigative findings.
- Direct the work of assigned law enforcement officers.
- Manage all aspects of personnel administration such as evaluating performance, resolving complaints and administering discipline.
- Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 2 years.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes. These include, but not limited to: weapons qualifications.
- Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes. These include, but not limited to: National Incident Management System training requirements
- Certifications for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /first aid techniques.
- Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56: Successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation. Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
- Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
- Subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Incumbent must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
- Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
- TDY travel is occasionally required.
- Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Successfully graduated from the USACPA or complete within one year of hire date, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG).
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.
