Washington, DC / Onsite
Blu Omega is seeking a Post-Quantum Cryptography SME to support future program opportunities for a federal program focused on cybersecurity modernization, cryptographic strategy, and quantum-resistant security planning. This role operates within a federal and defense environment and is responsible for supporting cryptographic risk analysis, encryption modernization, cybersecurity policy, secure communications, and advisory support for mission-driven environments.
Mission overview: Support cybersecurity modernization and post-quantum cryptography planning for federal and defense missions.

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area / National Capital Region (NCR)
Clearance: Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship required
Schedule: Primarily onsite. Hybrid may be available depending on customer/program requirements. Travel requirements vary by contract.

Responsibilities
- Support analysis, planning, and advisory efforts related to post-quantum cryptography and cryptographic modernization
- Assess current encryption methods, cryptographic dependencies, and risks tied to future quantum computing threats
- Support development of strategies for transitioning systems to quantum-resistant cryptographic standards
- Provide input on cybersecurity policy, governance, risk management, and compliance related to cryptographic systems
- Support technical documentation, briefings, white papers, assessments, and recommendations for government stakeholders
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, communications, systems engineering, and mission teams
- Translate complex cryptographic and cybersecurity concepts into clear guidance for technical and non-technical audiences
- Support discussions related to secure communications, data protection, identity systems, and mission system security
- Ensure alignment with applicable federal, DoD, NIST, and cybersecurity guidance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, cryptography, encryption, secure communications, cyber policy, or cryptographic modernization
- Knowledge of cryptographic concepts, including public key infrastructure, encryption algorithms, key management, secure communications, cryptographic risk, quantum-resistant encryption, or post-quantum cryptography concepts
- Experience supporting federal, DoD, Intelligence Community, or national security environments
- Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Active U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level or higher
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance
- Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, Space, or Federal Civilian programs
- Familiarity with NIST post-quantum cryptography guidance, cryptographic modernization initiatives, or quantum-resistant algorithms
- Experience with cybersecurity policy, RMF, Zero Trust, PKI, identity management, secure communications, or data protection
- Ability to support client-facing advisory work, technical writing, briefings, and strategic recommendations
- Experience developing white papers, technical assessments, implementation roadmaps, CONOPS, or decision-support materials
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CASP+, CISM, or related cybersecurity credentials
Compensation
Salary Range: $140,000.00-$215,000.00
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
