Responsibilities:
- Prepare publicly releasable materials (such as public relations plans, articles, press releases, exhibit/presentation materials, and annual/special event reports).
- Provide video production and editing services.
- Maintain and manage an electronic archive of documentation files related to events including photographs, videos and other files.
- Prepare documents to be accessed via the World Wide Web over the internet and from the Coast Guard's One Network (CGONE).
- This includes converting files to .pdf and other appropriate formats, scanning and importing documents.
- Create web pages including CGI scripting, use of JAVA, Front Page, on-line application development and on-line databases and forms.
- This includes periodic testing of web pages and links, and providing technical expertise to answer web design/operation related questions regarding the RDC internet site, the RDC intranet site, and other project web applications.
- Perform operational checks and routine maintenance, e.g. bulb and battery replacement of this equipment.
- Evaluate COTS equipment and provide a replacement recommendation to the COR.
- Monitor the online conference room scheduler for service and conference room configuration requests and provide as requested. Services may include set-up of audio/visual equipment, conference calls, Microsoft Teams, and all other communication tools.
- Provide assistance on the operation of the RDC's conference rooms through written guides and direct user instruction on the use of AV and communications equipment.
- Provide photographic, video, and processing support for demonstrations, exhibits, open houses, projects and other command activities.
- Maintain the RDC on-line photo gallery as directed by the COR.
- Duplicate various types of media, and must coordinate with the Public Affairs Officer for media tracking and security markings.
- Provide support for pre-deployment requirements, including management and recovery of loaner equipment temporarily assigned to staff, along with providing instructions for the proper use of the equipment.
- Develop and edit documentation for demonstrations, exhibits and other command activities and RDC field activities to include photographic, video support, and processing for in-house events, morale functions, and projects.
- Provide audio, video, and photographic products associated with command efforts to illustrate points in white papers and presentations.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to pass a USCG background check
- Must be proficient in the operation of RDC audio, video, and other technical equipment.
- Must be proficient in use of JAVA, Front Page, on-line application development and on-line databases and forms.
Salary Range:
- $60k-65k
