Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Publications Specialist to develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation supporting aircraft maintenance, operations, and engineering activities. This role requires strong technical writing skills, the ability to interpret engineering data, and experience working with aircraft systems and maintenance documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and support documentation.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and parts lists to develop accurate technical content.
• Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and illustrators to ensure technical accuracy.
• Utilize authoring tools to develop and update technical publications.
• Ensure documentation complies with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
• Review and validate technical content for completeness, clarity, and accuracy.
• Manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
• Follow established documentation processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to technical publications and documentation processes.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of United States Air Force heavy aircraft maintenance and/or avionics experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, FrameMaker, Arbortext Editor, or similar authoring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and parts lists.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow established processes and checklists.

Preferred Qualifications

• Jet Engine maintenance experience.
• Hydraulic Technician experience.
• Avionics maintenance experience.
• Experience supporting aircraft technical documentation or maintenance publications.

Education / Experience

Typically requires a High School Diploma, Associate Degree, military technical training, or equivalent experience, along with 4+ years of aircraft maintenance, avionics, or technical documentation-related experience.
